• Intermittent operation only in morning or evening. Temperature-sensitive solder joints on the control board expand and contract with daily thermal cycling. What goes wrong with DIY access control work: BFT control boards store motor force limits, deceleration curves, and safety edge sensitivity in non-volatile memory. Upload the wrong profile and the gate can close with 400N of force on a child’s bicycle. The 24V auxiliary outputs will energize a magnetic lock but will also deliver a sustained arc if you short them against the grounded enclosure. And if you’re trenching for new loop wire, California’s One-Call law (811) requires locates for any dig deeper than 12 inches - skip this and you’re liable for a gas line strike.
