Meet the Fremont Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Fremont
We’re the crew that shows up when your gate won’t close at 10 p.m. or your opener starts grinding on a Sunday morning. Every one of us came up through actual fieldwork, not a corporate training deck. What ties us together is simple: we name the part, name the problem, name the fix, and we don’t leave until you’ve got the photo log and the written price in your hand. That’s the Haven Standard, and it’s how we’ve operated in Fremont since 2014.
Our People
Adrian Vance, Owner & Lead Technician
I started this company in 2014 after ten years wiring commercial access-control systems for distribution centers and parking garages. That habit of documenting every wire run and every relay position turned into Clause 4 of the Haven Standard, the photo-record requirement we now apply to every residential gate job in Fremont. I still carry a multimeter on every call because half the “motor failures” we see are actually voltage-drop issues at the terminal block, and I’d rather find that in five minutes than sell someone an opener they don’t need. I live in the East Bay with my wife and two dogs who have learned to stay clear of any gate I’m working on.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been building and welding gate frames for fourteen years, starting with ornamental ironwork in San Jose before he moved over to automation. He’s the one we send when a custom swing gate needs to clear a Fremont driveway that slopes six inches from hinge to latch, or when a homeowner in Mission San Jose wants a cantilever slide gate that won’t chew up the existing pavers. He’s AWS D1.1 certified and has a running bet with Adrian about whether he can spot a gate that’s going to sag before it’s even hung. He’s currently winning. Off the job, he restores vintage motorcycles and has strong opinions about the best taco truck on Thornton Avenue.
Diana K., Service Coordinator
Diana answers the phones and schedules the calls, but she’s also the reason our technicians show up with the right parts already on the truck. She spent six years as a dispatcher for an HVAC company in Hayward before joining us in 2019, and she treats gate emergencies the same way she treated furnace failures in January: somebody’s stuck, somebody’s exposed, and the solution starts with getting the right person there fast. She knows which of our techs has the FAAC board in stock, who’s closest to the Ardenwood neighborhood at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday, and whether that grinding noise over the phone is more likely to be a worn drive belt or a seized idler pulley. She runs half-marathons and will absolutely ask you about your gate while stretching at Lake Elizabeth.
Javier R., Apprentice Technician
Javier joined us in 2022 after completing the industrial maintenance program at Chabot College in Hayward. He’s our designated climber on the steep-driveway jobs in the Fremont hills, and he’s already developed a specialty in troubleshooting Ghost Controls and Mighty Mule systems, the two brands we see most often on residential solar-slide installations. Adrian checks his photo logs every Friday, and the last time he found a missing image was March. Javier’s working toward his CSLB license and asks better questions than most techs with twice his time in the field. He grew up in Union City and still lives ten minutes from the shop, which explains why he’s the one who ends up on most of the after-hours calls.
One Standard, Every Job

Vance Gate Repair Fremont is independently owned and operated, but we’re part of a network of gate specialists across California who all work under the same Haven Standard. That means every technician in every city follows Clause 1: the written price before any work starts. Clause 4: the documented photo record on every visit. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something we fixed doesn’t hold up, we make it right with no argument and no fee.
We don’t do voicemail loops, callback queues, or automated attendants. A live person answers at (510) 826-3980, 24 hours a day, because a gate that won’t lock at midnight is a security issue, not a tomorrow issue. When you call, you’ll talk to someone who knows the difference between a Linear actuator and a Viking swing arm, who can tell you whether your opener issue sounds like a limit-switch problem or a stripped drive gear, and who can get the right technician to your door with the right parts already on the truck.
Every job we complete in Fremont gets the same documentation Adrian developed on commercial sites in 2014: photographed before, during, and after, with part numbers, settings, and adjustments recorded in writing. You get a copy before we leave. We keep the master file. If you need us back within a year, we know exactly what we found and exactly what we did.
Call (510) 826-3980 to speak with a live person now, or schedule a free estimate for installation or replacement work. Written price before we start. Photo record when we finish. That’s the standard.
